Up the mountain, through the gate.
The drive in is up — past the ponderosas, through the gate, onto a private fairway of the Flagstaff Ranch Golf Community. The lodge sits on the 9th and 10th fairways with the mountain behind it and the trees pressing in close. The air is thinner, the light is different, and you'll feel both before you've put down a bag.
Inside, the ceilings open up. A great room with floor-to-ceiling windows on the mountain. A stone fireplace that earns its keep on cold nights. A chef's kitchen with custom alder cabinetry and a wet bar with two wine fridges built into it. Six bedrooms across three levels — the primary and a second suite on the main floor, three more upstairs around a sitting area with its own second deck, and a sixth tucked downstairs by the game room.
The deck is where Breakthrough Lodge earns its name. A private hot tub with radiant ceiling heat that runs year-round — soak in October, soak in February, soak when it's snowing. A gas fire pit on the patio for the wine after dinner. And downstairs the game room: pool table, air hockey, retro arcade, and a projector screen for movie night when the trail is done with you. Lodge, the way the word should be used.
